The validity ofthe Number of Subjects of the National Examination for Medical Licence



Abstract
The authors investigated the opinion concerning what number of subjects should be treated in the national examination for medical licence, Respondants to the questionaire consisted of 32 medical college deans, 38 examiners, 53 professors, and

interns.
@ES The conclusions are as follows:
1, Current number of subjects for the national examination for medical licence should be reduced.
2. Thr proper number of examination subjects are 7. They cover internal medicine, sugery, obstetrics & gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, preventive medicine and medical legislation.
3. Genenal sugery should be given much more weight. Orthopedic sugery would be an appropriate second addition.
4. The number of all question and points should be 1 : 1.
5. The subject name of 'act relating to health, medicine and drug' should be replaced with 'health and medical treatment act' and it must be includes 'act relating to emergency care', 'blood control act'. 'medical insurance act in public
service
and
private school personel'.
6. Foreign licencees should be subject to the same korean national examination for medical licence given to candidate from korean medical schools.
